So Rumor Has It: In 2009, November. Brad Pitt's producing companies which are Reliance Big Entertainment and Plan B entertainment bought the movie filming blockbuster rights for the forthcoming "Dark Void" (Oh lawlz) film, but it seems that may not be the only movie the blockbuster star has bought the rights for.
Sources has told the Hollywood Glam Glitz and Gossip news source Showbizspy that Mr.Pitt (Hah!) is the "Preferred Choice" to star in the coming soon based on the Rockstar game's critically acclaimed and commercially successful Western open world third persons hooter, Red Dead Redemption. The sources say the Fight Club and Mr. and Mrs. Smith star will be playing the game's oh so charming, bad boy protagonist, no other than Mr. John Marston, himself.
"This is an exciting project with a great character at the center of it." a random source told Showbizspy. "THe idea is to make this in the style of an epic Western movie but with a few modern touches. (Wild Wild West Anyone?) Brad is perfect for the role and he is being given first refusal."
Sadly, the article that was posted up did not include any possible cast members that would be supporting the film, a announced project released date, or even any other details regarding this rumor.
The Official Word: While the rumors might sound exciting for others, and a Red Dead Redemption movie ain't  a bad idea, Rockstar has been contacted to be questioned regarding if the rumor was true or false, and they said, "We do not comment on rumor speculations." (Shrug.)
So What is it ferealz?: While this rumor is the first mention of an actual Red Dead Redemption film. Fans may be excited about the idea of a film based on the game, if the project is even real, it is likely only in the very beginning stages of planning.
Further more, Mr.Brangelina Pitt is one of many Hollywood's biggest stars, and he is likely offered "first refusal" (Which means, the ability to be the first actor to actually say no to a project.) If the project is indeed a fact, then Pitt may pass on the project, leaving the protagonist of Mr.Marston's character role to be open for another actor.

  8. Hm, he did a good job in Inglorious Basterds, I guess he could do a good job playing as John Marston, he is a good actor for the most part. I'm just hoping they don't mess up the movie, that's all.

  10. Meh. As long as they can get the right story down and everything, I'm with Brad as John. The Assassination of Jesse James was pretty good.

  15. Brad could do it. Remember, he did play Jessie James once. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0443680/
I still think they need a seasoned actor who has ton more westerns. We'll see what happens though. Really hope they get this movie right.
