Publisher's have confirmed that Keita Takahashi is no longer a member of the staff within a week after he described it as a "so-so company" in an interview.
The creator of Katamari Damacy is rolling on down the road (With all the pun intended.), as Namco Bandai and designer Keita Takahashi have parted their own ways. The story was originally reported by
Play.tm and confirmed later on by other sites all over the net. However, Namco Bandai gave no further details regarding the conditions of the parting or what ramifications it would have for the Katamari franchise or Takahashi's most recent project, Noby Noby Boy.

The verification comes less than a week after the notification of a brief yet blunt conversation with Takahashi on
The Setup, a blog devoted to "Developer/Nerdy interviews." And during that interview, Takahashi said he makes games for "
the so-so company Namco Bandai Games Inc." and admitted, "
I am so inefficient I only made four games in 11 years." (Oh, Takashi no need to be modest now.)
Takahashi has been known for not sugar coating words in public ears. In the first uprising of the original Katamari Damacy, he even questioned the need for games, saying, "
Children would be better off playing outside." Two years following that incident, he admitted to being sick and disgusted of the Katamari series and said he was not having much fun in the game industry than he use to anymore.
"I think for anyone in the world, you start to get bored of whatever you do, if you do one thing for too long, and that's one of the main reasons," Takahashi explained at the time.
It's very vague and unclear what Takahashi plans to move onto next.
While at Namco Bandai, he worked on Katamari Damacy, We Love Katamari, Noby Noby Boy for the PlayStation 3, and Noby Noby Boy for iPhone and iPod Touch.
CARE FOR YOUR THOUGHTS?
Well, to begin with the Katamari Franchise is one of my favorite games in all time. It actually made me feel happy to sit down and roll over things. It's sad to see a great video game designer being fed up of his job but there could be many factors affecting his reactions and how he responded to Bandai Namco, Inc. I guess in due time, Takahashi will find his inner true calling but for now I wish him the very best. and I hope that someone sheds a little bit of light into his gaming background because he will surely be missed.
