Electronic Arts is scheduled to hold its annual pre Tokyo Game Show briefing later tonight. But a few details on what is expected to be one of the event's biggest announcements have leaked out in advance courtesy of Famitsu.
The magazine reveals the big mystery tie-up production between Suda 51 and Shinji Mikami to be a multiplatform PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title called "Shadow of the DAMNED." Yes, that's "DAMNED" written in all caps.
Players play as a professional demon killer, sent into the world of demons to kill its residents. The few gameplay details we've heard reveal that the game will have a Resident Evil 4-ish viewpoint and ridable motorcycles. Sounds like a great combination!
"We are excited to finally take the cover off our latest project and invite gamers from around the globe to experience this new, warped world we have created," said Goichi Suda, CEO of Grasshopper Manufacture. "By partnering with EA, a publisher that truly shares our commitment to quality and innovation, we have been able to develop Shadows of the Damned according to our ambitious vision while creating an entertainment property we believe will appeal to a global audience."
"With Shadows of the Damned, gamers will fight for love in the most difficult arena imaginable ... hell," said Shinji Mikami, Creative Producer of Shadows of the Damned. "Players will find themselves surrounded by demons set on destroying their heart and soul. Only the strong will survive."
The game is currently scheduled to launch in summer of 2011. Check out the debut trailer below!
If this doesn't have a No More Heroes quirkiness to it I will be disappointed.
