Activision set to hit the road on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with zombie-swarming means of transportation combat game at a $50 price point.

Sony might hope next year's PlayStation 3 premiere of Twisted Metal give rise to a resurrection for the vehicular combat genre, but the long recuperating genre will receive another "transfusion" this holiday season in the form of Activision's Blood Drive.

The publisher today confirms that it would release and make public Blood Drive for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this November for $50 (That's not even a whole game, guys!). As the title of the game proposes, the M-for-"Mature"-rated driving simulation game will exhibit a violent twist, pitting players not just against each other but also a multitude of undead zombies cluttering the game's half-dozen environments. Activision is promising a variety of both 50-50 zombies and vehicles in the game. So when you think about it, 50% Zombies + 50% Vehicles =  $50! The sweet ass rides will range from muscle cars to construction equip ment (including a nice white rape van with a crazy clown figure.....sounds familiar?), while the different types of undead include but in no extent to frat boys, cops, strippers and bachelorette partiers.

It's unclear at the moment which studio is developing the game. Activision could previously boast a wealth of experience in the genre, but the shuttered studio Luxoflux, who are the makers of the Vigilante 8 franchise (Which I have to say, was one bad ass game when I was younger), earlier this year.

As for press time, Activision has not returned VGH's inquiry on the matter.

Care for your Thoughts?
If I can recall my situation vividly, once in a blue moon I have given my blood at a blood drive just to get free movie tickets. (Yes, I was desperate and young.) and I got some apple juice, and all these nice little treats inside the nice huge red donation van. It was a really great experience, except for the nice stainless steel sterilized needle protuberant and protruding from my limb of an arm while slowly creating a vacuum down my vein as it sucks out every single red blood cell that is within reach and at a leisurely pace pumping the blood into a bag.  Blood Drive seems to be better than that, and hopefully it will create an atmosphere most gun and drive players will hope for. Cars are a really touchy subject for me, and if it is not done right interest is sure to follow. So, I hope this game gets put together awesomely.

  • COD: Multiplayer Trailer

I'll admit, I haven't been too excited for Call of Duty: Black Ops. The only thing that has really interested me so far has been the single player, because the Call of Duty campaigns have always been great at delivering an action-packed, intense single player experience. Check it out!
