Ever since 2006 when the Xbox was first released, many people such as myself have complained about the d-pad on the controller. Well after about 5 years, Microsoft has heard out please and is reinventing the d-pad.  This is planned to be released November 9th for $65 in an exclusive plug and play pack.

With a small twist, the multidirectional d-pad raises upwards, making it easier to hit the diagonal direction. This is welcomed news to any fans of fighting games.

In addition to the useful changes, the color scheme of the buttons has been changed to a monochromatic black, white, and shades of gray.

Below is a video with Major Nelson giving an overview of these changes.

  4. im planning on getting me two of these, I wish ps3 would make a fancy controller, everyone likes to play in style.

  6. Is that picture colourless bar the guide button or is that actually all the colour the controller offers?

  7. if it was like 20 bucks and didnt come with the play and charge kit i would absolutely buy it; however, with the current price of $64.99 I could buy a game and would rather have that. Although, on the other hand besides the console itself the controller is the one thing I use the most, so maybe if they drop it to like 40 even I would consider it.

  9. Okay, what the hell is this crap.

  11. Gaming's worst d-pad has been fixed! The new problem is that the face buttons look ugly, they should have kept the color.

  12. PandaJedi Says:
  13. And I should care why? It will take a lot more than a transforming Dpad to make it comparable to a PS3 controller. Hell, I'd take the Wii classic controller Pro over a 360 controller.

  14. CelticDrunk Says:
  15. That's all well and good, but what about the color coded on screen prompts that most games have? New players will be confused.

  16. IIKOLD Says:
  17. This is bad ass!! Very sleek and slick design can't wait to get my hands on one!

  18. JackBrickman Says:
  19. Well, it only took them five years to fix an issue that should have been fixed before launch. Progress.

  20. Yamisukoru Says:
  21. wait a minute... are we all color blind now? or are we all going chrome?

  22. Ika5265 Says:
  23. Cool with the D-Pad and the circles around the joysticks... but why the hell are they making the buttons grey? It's ugly and harder to tell them apart.

  • COD: Multiplayer Trailer

I'll admit, I haven't been too excited for Call of Duty: Black Ops. The only thing that has really interested me so far has been the single player, because the Call of Duty campaigns have always been great at delivering an action-packed, intense single player experience. Check it out!
