I'll admit, I haven't been too excited for Call of Duty: Black Ops. The only thing that has really interested me so far has been the single player, because the Call of Duty campaigns have always been great at delivering an action-packed, intense single player experience.

However, this new teaser trailer has really peaked my interest. I thought Black Ops' multiplayer would be chock full of Modern Warfare 2 rip offs, but I might be wrong, it actually looks like in some ways,it may be better. Take a look at the new Multiplayer Teaser Trailer below.
Not too shabby in my opinion, and I thought I would just give a quick rundown of what I took away from the trailer.

If you're like me, you probably did a double take at the beginning thinking, "Wait what?!" It appears that Black Ops is going to introduce a sort of video camera on a tripod perk which will allow the player to place, and pickup, cameras to give a heads up on certain areas. It's almost like their version of a heartbeat sensor, just not as cheap as a heartbeat sensor.

Next up, we get a look at two of the kill streaks in the game. The first, is a 3 kill streak that gives the player control of an RC car-bomb controllable by the player that is shown later on in the trailer. The second, looks to be your standard care package drop. After these, we also get a little glimpse at the crossbow, which appears to be tipped with a timed explosive.

After that, we get a look at some sort of knife/dart gun that the player can shoot at enemies, almost like a throwing knife, which can also double as a melee weapon. Everything else is pretty much quick cuts to some sort of chopper gunner type thing, a glimpse of an airstrike, a look at the RC car I mentioned earlier and some quick sniper gameplay followed by a message touting that the full multiplayer will be revealed on September 1st.

The most exciting little bit of information came from the little teaser at the end, showcasing a new recording mode, in the vein of Halo 3's theater mode, that will allow player's to replay matches and edit clips, which the Call of Duty crowd has been clamoring for since Modern Warfare 1's release.

All in all, there are some really cool new editions that have me pretty excited to see more about the multiplayer portion of Black Ops. I know I'll be paying attention September 1st to see what's in store, but the real question is, will you?

  10. I always find treyarchs version of COD to be a much better experience than Infinity wards, yeah IW revolutionized FPS MP, but imo treyarch made it better with W@W. (keep in mind i only play hardcore, so the MP-40 was never an issue, that gun is terrible for HC)

  12. I'm not very impressed unless they could modify the melee system. If it were my game i would add stun guns and batons and even give them a special place in the multiplayer section. I would also add a taser gun as a secondary weapon.

  13. game looks good only a couple of months left, cant wait to be killing some vietcong, too bad in the end the victory goes to the bad guys.
