VGHenchmen as a group feel that the number rating system other websites use can be a little skewed. The gaming industry is changing so rapidly that the traditional 1-10 rating system doesn't work. A game that was made two years ago and was given a ten might be given an eight today. We are trying to avoid this. Instead of telling people this game is an eight, we want to recommend to people whether a game is worth a purchase or a rent.

With this said lets look at a little game called Mirrors Edge, this game sold terribly! It was only given a 79 on Metacritic. Now I'm not trying to say that Mirrors Edge was the best game I have ever played, hell, its probably not on my top 50, but to give a platformer such a low score is not right. Mirrors Edge did what it set out to do, make a fast paced action platformer game. A game that was polished, smooth, and felt good to just run. But this is not a Mirrors edge review so, without further ado (look up ado if you don't know it), this will be the new rating system of our site:
For Full price games:
Buy Full Price
Buy Used
Rent
Not Recommended
For Arcade games (XBLA, PSN, Wii Ware):
Buy Full Price
Buy Reduced Price
Not Recommended
Please leave comments below stating whether you like the idea, or just want us to stick to the normal rating system.

I think that's better than numbers because either way at the end of the day it all comes to, should we buy it or not?
That's actually really good. Surprised nobody has thought of that yet.
