Dragon Age 2 announced: improved combat, graphics, epic story

2011 is shaping up to be a big year for gaming, and it looks like we can add yet another high-profile title to the slate of games due to be released next year: Dragon Age 2. EA has officially announced the sequel to last year's Dragon Age: Origins, which will be coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Few details are available as of yet, but the game is currently in development at BioWare's Edmonton studio and the announcement claims that it features a "more responsive combat system" and "a dynamic story that is already among the most multifaceted in gaming." It also looks like the game will be pretty epic in scope, with a story that spans over a decade. There aren't even any screenshots available at this time, but EA has released some concept art, which hints at a much darker game.

"Last year’s launch of Dragon Age: Origins was one of the most successful in BioWare’s 15-year history and one of the most successful new IP launches in the 28 year history of EA," BioWare cofounder Dr. Ray Muzyka said. "Dragon Age 2 will simultaneously deliver an epic story and set a new bar for intense action in the genre. We're very excited to deliver this next bold evolution in the Dragon Age franchise to our fans."
Dragon Age 2 is set to be released in March of next year.

San Diego Comic Con: What to expect with their VG Panel?

Comic-Con Schedule To be released on ThursdayThe planned schedule for Comic-Con is reported to be unveiled, and one can, rather, one must check out the most important panels for Thursday, July 22.
Frenzied die-hard comics buffs have something to be cherished about today, though: Summit Entertainment as Comic-Con schedule is about to be revealed. The announcement is deemed to be a surprise and an unexpected move, the Twilight franchise will, however, not be making an appearance on the panels.
But, analyst who has observed the field has thrown light on five things that will surely agitate one at this year’s Comic-Con; take a poll after the jump.

Headlined made by a special discussion with TV masterminds J.J. Abrams and Joss Whedon, Thursday is considered to be fairly small for TV fans, with the big draws being offered from USA and Showtime, including the widely known amazing Dexter.

Video Game Con-dams, Level up!
Sure you've got a Mario hoodie and a Donkey Kong t-shirt, but do you have Donkey Schlong and Sextris condoms?

We're big fans of video game memorabilia but we're not so sure the childlike joy of discovering a Princess Peach purse or a Tetris board game transfers to condoms. These colorful contraceptive devices come courtesy of 21-year-old Visual Communications student Ben Marsh (with design by Julia Roach) and a mock sexual health campaign.

Marsh explains the product on his Website:
The Play campaign revolved around "fun"
The packaging aims create a desire to purchase the product for aesthetic reasons, rather than the necessity of condoms. Simply by owning the product, safe sex is promoted.
